I know this may seem a little off topic, especially for my first post on this site, but I really feel like it needs to be addressed.

If you’re thinking of getting into whisky, which one should you choose?

The short answer: Single Malt, Speyside Whisky.

When I first thought of getting into whisky, like most people, I turned to Google. Unfortunately, I found plenty of people promoting generally single malts of at least 12 years.

Ok, that’s a start…

I wanted to be able to go to a bar and order something that I would like, without admitting I had no idea what I was talking about!

Enter the Speyside.

Whiskys from different regions have profoundly different tastes. Most people when starting out, aren’t fans of a real peaty drop. I’ve found a similarity in my favourite choices that allows me to pick with fair¬†certainty, something lighter in taste, that I’m actually going to enjoy.
